My Milkshake Brings…

Layered Cocktail

What You Need? 

Rum. Bourbon. Brandy. Creme de Coconut. Mint Bitters. Chocolate Bitters.

What to do? 

Combine 1oz Rum, 1/2 oz Brandy, 1/2 oz Bourbon (or 1oz of either if you don’t have both) with a splooge of coconut cream (or coconut flakes/milk/shaved coconut) in a cocktail shaker over crushed ice. Add a splash of mint bitters (or a piece of mint, if you don’t have) and a few dashes of chocolate bitters (or chocolate syrup, if you don’t have). Shake super-vigorously & strain into highball w/ ice cube. Top with coconut flakes. If you’re feeling really fancy, throw them in the toaster oven for a few minutes and, voila, toasted coconut.

Canadian Cinnamon Cedar

Whiskey!

What You Need? 

Rye Whiskey. Cedar Plank. Lemon Juice/Lemon. Sugar. Water. Sprig of Thyme. Cinnamon Stick. Orange Slice (if you don’t have lemon!)

What to do? 

Pour 2 oz rye whiskey onto a cedar plank/shingle/piece of cedar in a bowl. Soak for a few hours. Mix equal parts sugar and water, bring to boil, let cool. Add sprig of thyme to make a simple syrup. Strain whiskey into shaker, mix in cooled simple syrup over ice. Shake vigorously, add cinnamon stick, garnish with cinnamon or a sprig of thyme if you want and enjoy!

The perfect welcome-cocktail for Spring…soft and smooth yet crisp and refreshing.

What you need? 

Lavender Bitters, Gin or Vodka, Cucumber, Sparkling Water, Sugar

What to do? 

Add  about 2 oz Gin or Vodka to shaker with about 1tsp of sugar and ice, shake well. Pour into coupe glass, add two dashes of lavender bitters, top with sparkling water (or even tonic!) and garnish with a thin slice of cucumber. Happy Spring!
